Disney Cruise Line will resume sailing from Florida on the Disney Dream beginning Aug. 9, 2021.
The 2,500-passenger vessel will sail a series of four- and three-night Bahamian voyages from Port Canaveral with two stops at Castaway Cay, and has dropped Nassau for the time being.
Meanwhile, come end of August, the Dreams sister ship, the Disney Fantasy, will still be sailing its simulated cruises, of which there will be two.
On Aug. 26, the ship will sail a three-night Bahamian test cruise from Port Canaveral, visiting Nassau and Castaway Cay and on Aug. 29, the Fantasy will embark on a four-night Western Caribbean cruise visiting Cozumel and Castaway Cay.
The Disney Fantasy is expected to start its revenue voyages on Sept. 4 from Port Canaveral, sailing seven-night itineraries with visits to Tortola, St. Thomas and Disneys Castaway Cay.
While Disney will not be requiring proof of vaccination for its sailings out of Florida, non-vaccinated passengers will be subjected to a pre-embarkation PCR test and a $65 antigen test at the port .
Additionally, non-vaccinated guests over 12 years old sailing from Florida before Dec. 31, 2021, will have to provide proof of a valid travel insurance policy.
Guests aged two and older will be required to wear a face covering on the ship and at terminals, except for some designated areas and situations .
The Disney Cruise Line Navigator mobile app can be used by guests to help with communication with crew and virtual queueing.

Disney Cruise Line has joined the industry in restarting its North American cruise operations, but unlike others lines the company has decided to delay its planned longer, weekly cruises. In an announcement to the trade on August 16, Disney said it was canceling cruises lasting 7-days in length planned for the coming weeks.
As we continue to resume sailings in a gradual, phased approach, it is necessary for us to cancel the September 4, 2021, Disney Fantasy sailing, the company wrote saying it was delaying the vessels restart to September 11. During this initial phase, the Disney Fantasy will only visit Disney Castaway Cay, our private island in The Bahamas. We hope to resume 7-night voyages or longer onboard the Disney Fantasy in October.
Disney resumed operations after the pause due to the pandemic with its first cruise ship, the Disney Magic, sailing short UK-domestic cruises. The ship is offered UK Staycation trips from the UK ports of Southampton, Tilbury, and Newcastle ranging between two and four nights. Those cruises continue till the fall and the vessel is scheduled to reposition to Miami in November 2021.
Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line
Original Update: The cruise line which is based out of West Palm Beach, Florida has remained silent through early 2021. Announced on April 9, the small cruise line will make a comeback with short cruises to the Bahamas starting on July 2, 2021.
Update 1: In a recent development from Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line, Grand Classica has been approved by the CDC to operated a simulated voyage. The ship will depart on June 25 on a 2-night test cruise to stress test health protocols as per the CDC Conditional Sailing Order requirements.
Update 2: In early July, the cruise line altered its return to service date and its planned simulated cruise. The test cruise finally departed out of West Palm Beach, Florida on July 13 with cruises officially restarting from July 16.

How Safe Is Sailing
Disney Cruise Line wrote an advisory to guests, stating that it is resuming sailing in a gradual, phased approach that emphasizes multiple layers of health and safety measures. These have been developed under guidance from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other medical experts.
While vaccinations are strongly encouraged, they are not mandated for guests on Disney Dream sailings from Florida. However, guests who do have proof of vaccination will be able to skip the necessary coronavirus testing. This testing is required before leaving home and at port, with negative results from both necessary to board the ship.
Face masks are required in most indoor public areas of the cruise ship for guests aged 2 and up and ship capacity has been reduced to allow for social distancing. Hand sanitizer stations have been set up throughout the ship, as well as on Disneys private island.
According to the cruise line, there will be twice-daily stateroom cleanings with extra attention paid to high-touch surfaces, plus new air purification systems are in place on the ship.
Disney Cruise Line Sailings Expected To Resume Fall 2021
Disney Cruise Line most recently canceled all sailings through May 2021, and all sailings on the Disney Magic through August 2021. During todays shareholders meeting, Disney CEO Bob Chapek stated they expect Disney Cruise Line to resume operations by fall 2021.
When sailings do resume, masks will likely be required in some settings and there may be adjustments to dining and entertainment experiences. Though no announcements have been made, a recent Disney Cruise Line commercial portrayed guests wearing face masks.
A month ago, Disney Cruise Line warned guests making bookings that their cruises may be interrupted, following a CDC notice emphasizing the high risk of COVID-19 on cruise ships. Some passengers are currently suing Disney Cruise Line regarding a March 2020 cruise on which they believe they contracted COVID-19.

Disney Cruise Line Resumes Florida Cruises On August 9
On Friday, Disney Cruise Line officially announced that its Florida cruises will resume on August 9. In a video on , Disney Signature Experiences President Thomas Mazloum said, Were ready to welcome you aboard and set sail once again. No Disney Cruises Until Fall
While in recent weeks there has been renewed optimism on resuming cruises, for Disney Cruise Line, it could be the opposite. Disney CEO Bob Chapek has said in an annual that maybe by this fall that limited cruise operations could resume.
Disney CEO Bob Chapek said during the meeting:
We are very anxious to get our Disney Cruise Line business back up and running. As you know, the cruise industry had been quite hit hard by the Covid, and as of right now, we dont have any definitive information in terms of when we will be able to reopen up our cruise lines.
To be honest, no one really knows when cruises can resume as it all depends on further technical guidance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control . In other countries such as the UK, there is a more positive outlook with a set date of domestic cruising from May 17, 2021.
Chapek continued to say:
We anticipated that with some luck and the increase in the number of vaccinations out there and the encouraging trends that were seeing that maybe by this fall we might be able to have some limited operations of our cruise ships, but thats all going to depend on the incidence of the virus and the vaccination of the general public.
He mentioned vaccinations and the rollout, which could play a major roll in how soon cruises will be able to resume. Even when they do start cruising again it will be limited and disciplined guidelines will be implemented which have been used at Disney Parks.

Disney Cruise Line is ready to welcome passengers aboard a second cruise ship next month from Port Canaveral, but it had to cancel at least one more sailing on its website and shift the length and destinations for several more.
Disney Fantasy is set to resume operations on Sept. 11 joining Disney Dream, which began voyages earlier this month. Fantasy performed its two-night simulated voyage from Aug. 12-14 to earn its conditional sailing certificate from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
That sets the ship up to begin service next month, but the cruise line decided to cancel a sailing that was still available on the website since the last round of cancellations was to depart Sept. 4. In addition, the new return date of Sept. 11 as well as at least three more voyages, have been shifted away from what had been 7-night itineraries instead to 4-night voyages that only visit the cruise lines private island in the Bahamas, Castaway Cay.
We hope to resume 7-night voyages or longer onboard the Disney Fantasy in October, the line stated on its website.
